On Monday September 23, 2024, the Middletown Fire Academy celebrated the graduation of its most recent class of volunteer firefighters. Red Bank Fire Department's Breanna Hartman was among the graduates and is a current active member of Independent Hose Company, also known as Engine 93. Breanna is the daughter of three-time RBFD Fire Chief Wayne Hartman, who had the honor of bestowing her Firefighter Certificate. Breanna carries on a tradition in the Borough of Red Bank where families have multiple generations serve the community in the volunteer fire service.

The Red Bank Fire Department continues its outreach to the greater Red Bank community for volunteers. There is a place for both active firefighters and support members. The first step is to send an inquiry throught the "Join Us" link on this website.

Active Firefighters: If you are already certified, it is a quick process to have you join. If you have no training, the Department will sponsor you to attend the fire academy at no expense to you.

Support Members: All companies, and the Department, have need for support in administrative tasks including fundraising, event planning, book keeping, webpage support, outreach, and more. If you have a way to contribute to the Department, there is a non-firematic place for you to contribute. Please send an inquiry.

On the morning of 9/22/2024 Ladder 91, Tower 90, Engine 93, Engine 94, and Chiefs Woods (67) and Welsh (68) gathered at Red Bank Regional High School to conduct a joint water flow drill. The members reviewed each others apparatus and ran set ups to flow water through Tower 90's waterways. The drill is a continuation of the departments commitment to train for all possible scenarios.

On the morning of 9/11/2024, the Red Bank Fire Department and Red Bank Police Department, joined by members of the greater Red Bank community, gathered at Riverside Gardens Park to remember those lost on 9/11. This year, Red Bank Middle School Principal, JT Pierson, brought the entire eighth grade to participate in the remembrance. Members of local faith groups, the entire Red Bank Council and Mayor, the Atlantic Watch, as well as the Choir of the Atlantic, also joined.

A huge thank you to the Red Bank Fire Department for taking Manager Jim Gant and Deputy Mayor Kate Triggiano, who also serves as the 2nd Lieutenant at Westside Hose, out for a tour of their Marine 64 service area. Wednesday morning's trip was a great opportunity to review their top-notch equipment, learn more about their firefighting and rescue capabilities on the water, and understand how we support surrounding jurisdictions.

A special shoutout to Chief Holiday, Deputy Chief Frank Woods, and Marine Captain Alan Soden Sr. for organizing the tour. It is especially impressive that the boat and equipment have been acquired entirely through donations. Please continue to support this and other firefighting efforts with your generous contributions!"

The Navesink Hook & Ladder of the Red Bank Fire Department conducted an automobile stablilization and extrication training at Red Bank Recycling. The Company practiced techniques and the use of specialized extrication tools in a variety of evolutions. The training is part of the Department's overall commitment to continued training to best serve the greater Red Bank Community.

The Department and Hook & Ladder would like to again thank Red Bank Recycling for their donation of automobiles and use of their facility. Red Bank Recycling has made a years-long commitment to assisting the Department and it is greatly appreciated.

On the morning of July 5, 2024, Engine 94 and 67 Chief Woods were called in mutual aid to a three-alarm fire at the Eatontown Popeyes on Route 35. The Company assisted in pump ops. The RBFD serves in a mutual aid capacity to several of our neighboring communities.

At approximately 9:20pm on the evening of July 2, 2024 the Red Bank Fire Department was called to the report of a smoke condition at a residence on Ambassador Drive. Upon arrival, 67 Chief Frank Woods confirmed a structure fire, hit the box alarm for mutual aid, and set up command. The fire would ultimately result in a second alarm. All residents evactuated safely but were displaced, their cat was lost in the fire, and one Red Bank Fire Firefighter required transport to Riverview Medical Center for treatment from Heat Stroke (The member was released and cleared as healthy at 1:45am).

All Red Bank Fire Units responded in addition to mutual aid departments from Little Silver, Fair Haven, Middletown, Sea Bright, The Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office, the Monmouth County Coordinators, and others. The RBFD wishes to thank our neighbors for their swift and professional response.

The response resulted in limiting the fire to one unit and from spreading to any adjoining units.

On July 1, 2024, the Red Bank Fire Department was called to Riverview Medical Center to assist in the cutting of a 4 inch drill bit that impaled a patient's finger. The Members of the Department are trained for what are called "Man vs. Machine" incidents and carry specialized tools to assist with cutting in accident situations. Responding units included 66, 67, 68, 91. 95, Rescue 2, and Fire Police.
